I worked with both Jason and Rick. Both were absolutely fantastic. Long story long, I am the owner of a 2017 Subaru Impreza which had been in at Fox Subaru in Macomb shop for a broken wheel bearing. The car had recently had the oil changed and the tires rotated approximately 3 weeks prior. I was surprised to receive a notification from Fox that I had a MAJOR oil leak from the upper oil pan and would need to have the repairs done ASAP to avert catastrophe (also a $2,500 repair). Initially, I was concerned but I thought about the timeline and the fact I never saw an oil spot on my driveway nor had my check oil light ever gone off. This got me thinking, why didn't they notice a MAJOR oil leak when they changed my oil or rotated my tires? I spoke with Jason and Rick and decided not to have my upper oil pan replaced by Fox Subaru in Macomb. When I picked the vehicle up from Fox, the representative tried to downplay how severe the oil leak was. I asked them why this wasn't noticed 3 weeks prior. He stated that when the car was in the shop for the oil and tire rotation they had an inexperienced technician working on the vehicle, but for the wheel bearings he wanted his top-of-the-line technician working on the vehicle, and that's when he noticed the MAJOR oil leak. This left me with the sense that safety for Fox Subaru in Macomb was dependent on the experience of a technician, and at any time you could end up leaving a service less safe than before that service took place. I'll stop rambling at this point. Shores Car Care with Rick and Jason ran an additional diagnostic test by putting dye in my oil. They concluded that I did NOT have an oil leak from the upper oil pan and potentially had some residual oil on my lower oil pan because of the age of the vehicle and the way the oil is changed. I appreciate the excellence in service and communication they provided me and look forward to continuing to bring my vehicle to them in the future.
